Visible glaze on underside.    Description: On auction is an Egyptian faience amulet depicting a crocodile with jaws into his prey. The amulet is symbolic of the ancient Egyptian god Sobek. The amulet is rich in detail with a realistic depiction of a typical nile crocodile with his prey centred around his jaws and teeth sunk in. Its surface skin as well as its long folded tail shows clear detail of the reptilian scales. Just before the hind legs, there is a visible suspension piercing for mobility. The amulets original turquoise glaze is worn on the top surface. The underside still shows remains of its original surface colour and glaze,  giving you a clear idea of the artistry incorporated into the this depiction. Fully intact.
