Description
Hello Ladies & Gentleman:Before you is an important  antique circa 1910 Persian Tabriz pictorial carpet. It is without an explanation,  one of the most unique, rare and highly collectible hand woven persian carpet that one can come across.I will begin by  naming  each of the figures  in the carpet  whos names are written above each image in persian /Farsi alphabet. The center medallion figure is that of "Ahmad Shah" who became a king at the age of nineteen and due to wide spread opposition from the masses of people he was deposed by force and sent to exile in paris France where he died in exile. His young age and lack of knowledge and experience was the primary reason for his down fall however, he became very much admired and missed by his people later on and became a folk hero. The description above his name reads:Long Live Ahmad Shah. For further detail simply Google his name and you will find many interesting images and information on line. The two bottom images are those of the two revolutionary brothers named : "Satar Khan " and "Bagher Khan" whom helped Persians gain their independance from the Russian invasion.  The writings above their images read:His excellency  leader Satar Khan  &  Respectable leader Bagher Khan.Due to shear amount of information and images I highly recommand you Google search each name and read about each of them and their history.  The two images on the top are those of <on the left side> His excellency Leader "Asad Bakhtiari" who was the founder of the Bakhtiari tribe and even to this day  they make rugs  that are named  Bakhtirai. The image to the write reads:His excellancy "Leader Barjak" who was the highest ranking general at the time of ahmad shah's down fall. so for further verification and info please Google all five names. Now, I don't mean to give you all a lecture about history  but I thought  many people would inquire about  the images and their names  so that's why I shared the above information with you and I hope you will find it as interesting as I did!             ***********************************As for the carpet. This is a genuine handwoven art work from the suburbs of Tabriz in a small town Khoy. If you see the cartouches in both sides of the rug They bare the signature of the Master weaver which reads : Mahmoud Khoyie.  Although  most agree that this fantastic work of art was woven in the Tabriz region but there are also some experts whom attribute the origin of this amazing rug to those of Khorassan which is in the eastern part of persia. As for the condition: The rug is evenly worn thru  out and has some areas with exposed foundation which is normal wear for a rug of this vintage. All the dyes are natural. The salavages have be redone to secure the sides and the top and the bottom of the rug has been over casted so it won't come undone. All the border's are intact and nothing is missing. There are No reweavings , No cuts or any reductions, No moth damages, No tintings, No touch ups and No stains or any pet odors. All in all it is in a very good worn condition and it is ready to bring a lot of charm and elegance to your home of office collection. It is needless to say that rugs of this magnitude don't come around very often and I can assure you that this rug will be a great conversation piece for many years to come. This rug deserves to be in a  Museum for all to enjoy and for that reason I have decided to sell this here on ebay because may be someone will notice it!.I never thought I would want to sell this rug but the rough times are frocing me so here it goes to the lucky bidders!   USA Shipping via UPS to your home or office will be $75 dollars.Thank you for viewing my auction and please email me If you have any questions.Sincerely,DM
