“IF YOU LIKE THIS AUCTION, PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS THAT MAY INTEREST YOU BY CLICKING THE BUTTON ABOVE ON “ VIEW SELLER’S OTHER ITEMS”. Thanks, JLo3, V.P.” Description: King George Table Marble Top ~ Period circa 1800 -- 1807 Up for consideration, we have a VINTAGE and EXTREMELY RARE Antique Dining Table or Executive Desk which was converted from a library table, made in England, late King George period, circa 1800 – 1807; wood frame with apron having wave & barley engraved borders, carved with 12 eagle heads, extending into 4 ornately carved knees on cabriole legs with ball & claw feet; holding a very heavy green swirl thick (Verde Rameggiato) marble top made in Italy, circa 1800, with molded edge. The table now measures 61” x 33” x 29.5” high. The ornate table is EXTEMELY RARE and for the ELITE FEW! This is a GREAT conversation piece, worth easily $50,000.00, COMPLETELY RESTORED. This is one very high end antique piece of furniture. The table is 200+ years old and GORGEOUS LOOKING!!! GREAT X-MAS GIFT!!! Ownership History: Here is the history of this VERY RARE antique King George table. As a Real Estate Broker working in Upstate California, I had to travel weekly to the San Francisco Bay Area to check on our escrows for our land sales in Lake California and Rolling Oaks Estates projects. When visiting the escrow office in Walnut Creek, I would always check in with the CEO, Robert Duca, to acquire more land inventory for our projects. I remember sitting across his Executive Desk, an antique marble top table, gorgeous, but in dire need of “restoration”. He mentioned that he had bought it in Berkeley, CA about 25 years ago at an Antique Shop. I always admired it. Deep inside, I wished that I could own something like it, but couldn’t afford it. In 2004, we “sold” out both projects and started closing down the offices. Everyone had made a lot of money in 2004, and each was going his own way. I will never forget that day. Bob Duca told me that he was closing down the office and selling all the furniture. I immediately asked how much for the desk table. He mentioned that he would have it appraised and sell it for that value. It was appraised at $5,500.00 in as-is-condition (bad). So, I called in my man, Armando, owner of “Best Little Workshop” in Concord, CA (Plug in). He told me that it was originally a library table, that Bob had the cabriole legs “professionally cut” to convert it to an Executive Desk or could be used as a Dining Table. He said, “Buy it!! I can restore this into a RARE antique table worth $50,000.00 or more”. So, I bought it for $5.500.00 and paid 3 men ($500.) to lift the marble and frame and take it to Armando to be restored. Armando worked very hard to restore this antique table, and he went over it 4 times to get every inch back to its original condition. He charged me $5,000.00 to have it completely restored and another $1,000.00 to have it delivered to my home in Upstate California. When the table was delivered, Armando told me that the “appraised” value of this table would be $35,000.00 and that clients in the Bay Area would pay as much as $50,000.00 for this particular antique King George Table. Ooh, you ought to hear the people that see it. IT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! NOT ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! Who’s the Next Owner? I am 64 years of age now and getting ready to retire next year and am liquidating my entire investment collection of bikes, photos, celebrity autographs, etc. So, who is the next owner? This table is a rare breed and needs to go to a rare breed of a Buyer!! GREAT X-MAS GIFT!!!
