Fowler and Wells owned the rights, and the society bought books from them. But in 1902 they obtained the printing plates and began producing their own edition. The early editions that followed are among the most rare of all the bibles produced by the society. But few reach the scarcity of the 1927 memorial edition! This was the FIRST BIBLE THE SOCIETY PRINTED ON THEIR OWN PRESS!!! The society made a few of their most popular books (Harp of God, Studies in the Scriptures, Diaglott) with a special embossed cover, which has become known as the memorial editions. They were very expensive to own even then, and so very few were made. Today, these editions are extremely rare!. CONDITION. Cover is a bit worn and the title page is missing Originals from the C. T. Russell Era All of the oldest publications from Russell's very first writings in the 1870's, to his death in 1916, a wonderful collection of rare history! Originals from the J. F.
