It's patent date on the top of the box is February 1883. The box is in very good condition and it appears to be complete with all the accessories. The felt on the inside needs to be reattached in two places. This is very minor and can easily be done. This is a great piece just for the box itself. It is beautifully constructed with tenon and mortise joints and it appears to be pine or possibly oak. Please contact me with your questions.
