Frederick Opper is absolutely the Father of the Modern Cartoon, and this Great Routledge Title in Color Pictorial Front Board is one of his best ever.    Boards are complete with original red cloth spine rubbed but not frayed, some edge and corner wear, but Paste-on still in Great Condition.     Interior is Complete in 32 two-sided pages (64 total) with 29 Full Paged Color Plates plus the Full Color Title page.  The very last illustration of the Little Boy and Girl (AMAZED SIGHT-SEERS) completes the 30 Listed Illustrations indicated.     The Center fold is  a Double Color Display of the "Stuffed Animals", Central among them being the "MISSING LINK"!! You have to see it to believe this depiction! I won't list them all, but some of the other great ones are the AQUARIUM, IMITATION ELEPHANT, MAGICIAN, FAT LADY, WONDERS of the HEAVENS, SEA SERPENT, PHRENOLOGIST (Have your Head Examined!), DOLL'S BALLOON ASCENSION, LEARNED PIG, MIDGETS, & The GIANT.
