The candlestick stands about 22 inches tall and is about 5  inches wide at the base . It has a tin holder at the top . The paint is milk based. It is a brown color but previous colors of green and a golden yellow can be seen where the outer color s missing.  The base has a graduated or flared disc design. The patina on this candlestick is wonderful. I am unsure as to the type of wood it is. It weighs 15.2 ounces unpacked. It doesnt weigh much for its size. I would guess the age of the piece to the mid 1700's. We also aquired a dated 1745 pantry box that we will be listing from the same estate. These were family items and new to the market. The pantry box is Scandinavian I believe and this candlestick might also be. It has some paint cracking , scratches , bumps, wear  etc.... It is very old and was used. There was a broken area by the top of the candlestick that was repaired a long time ago. There's a couple hundred years of dirt that can be seen where the tin top meets the wood. There is a small nail that was put through the tin to keep it in place also a long time back. There is a hole in the base of the stick that appears to have been punched out. How that was done I havnt a clue. A true primitive that displays very nicely. The color of the candlestick is more brown than some of the pics would suggest    Please check out the pics below .
