Machine is in excellent working condition with all tens carry over. It comes in original box with replacement stylus. Box is rough but has preserved a rare calculator from 100+ years ago. Per Martin Book on Antique Calculators, the Calcumeter originally patented by Michel Baum was made in America during the early 1900s and imported into Germany via Hamburg and sold for about 100 marks. These were very well made machines of nickel, copper and brass (later copies were made of tin or steel like “Lighting”). History preserves their advertisements that stated: “The Calcumeter is being operated in thousands of the best equipped and largest business office throughout the world………..”. This is an American, early 1st quarter 20th century, stamped on the end H.N. MORSE, TRENTON, N.J. and on the side PAT'D DEC. 17 '01. Serial # is stamped 15172. Top of this machine is stamped “The Calcumeter” (Next Models were stamped “The Standard Desk Calcumeter”.). This is one of the very first models offered and seldom found. This rare machine is made of Brass, Copper & Nickel Plating with original back folding steel legs. This Calcumeter consists of 6 movable dials (Later models had a new reset dial). There are two-swivel legs that stand in the back to angle machine up for use. Calcumeter’s were the best-made dial calculating machines of the late 1800s. This model is seldom found especially in box. Calcumeter measures at 8 3/4 inches long x 2 inches wide.
