Description
FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING AND INSURANCE INCLUDED.So MAKE AN OFFER. This is a 211 piece set of Reed & Barton Pointed Antique sterling silver that was bought between 1975 and 1984 by my cousin. It all came from a jewelery store named Ross Simon's. There are NO monograms and 15 of the serving pieces are still new in their plastic bags, unopened. Pointed Antique is an authentic reproduction of the original design by Paul Revere and it is America's oldest sterling flatware pattern. There are 12 place settings along with various other pieces, including serving pieces. The set is in excellent shape with no pits, bends, dents, or dings - only light marks from movement and storage. Notes left with the set by my cousin say that the set was used once, and not the whole set. She also obtained an appraisal of the replacement value in 1994 of 195 pieces, NOT ALL 211, of over $15,000 retail replacement cost. Below is a listing of each piece and the weight of the pieces in both ounces and Troy ounces weighed on a postal scale. All the weighted hollow-handled items have Mirrorstele stainless steel blades. PLEASE ASK FOR MORE PICTURES - I HAVE TAKEN MANY AND WILL BE HAPPY TO EMAIL THEM TO YOU. If the buyer is not interested in the chest I will deduct $300 from the price. The chest is a Eureka 3-draw solid-hardwood flatware chest that has a mahogany finish and a brown tarnish-preventive silver cloth lining. Manufactured by Eureka Manufacturing Division of Reed & Barton Silversmiths, America's Premier Silverware Chest Manufacturer. I do not know what model it is but appears to be similar to the current models called "Ambassador" and/or "Bristol Grande". It is used, but in great condition with signs of normal use, mostly from being in storage all these years. Has locking cabinet with key, holds set of 24 flatware place settings, and measures 19" x 12" x 15" (L x W x H). One just like it sold recently on eBay and can be viewed at this link:http://cgi.ebay.com/EUREKA-STERLING-SILVER-FLATWARE-MAHOGANY-WOOD-CHEST-NR_W0QQitemZ140212692174QQihZ004QQcategoryZ20109QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quantity Item Weight Weight Ounces Troy Ounces1 Carving Knife - H 6.2 5.7 1 Carving Fork - H 5.6 5.1 12 Steak Knives - H 28.1 25.6 12 Place Knives - H 31.6 28.8 3 Tea Knives - H 8.1 7.4 12 Spreaders - H 18.1 16.5 2 Pie/Cake Serving Knives - H 7.2 6.6 2 Pastry Servers - H 5.5 5.0 2 Master Butter Knives - H 3.3 3.0 1 Cheese Serving Knife - H 1.7 1.5 48 Total For Hollow Items 115.40 105.18 12 Place Forks 20.7 18.9 12 Salad Forks 16.8 15.3 12 Tea Forks 14.7 13.4 12 Place Spoons 18.9 17.2 12 Cream Soup Spoons 17.0 15.5 12 Iced Tea Spoons 17.1 15.6 12 Oyster Forks 9.7 8.8 13 Demitasse Spoons 6.4 5.8 12 Napkin Clips 6.8 6.2 24 Teaspoons 26.0 23.7 1 Lemon Fork 0.7 0.6 2 Gravy Ladles 5.1 4.6 2 Large Salad Serving Forks 8.9 8.1 2 Large Salad Serving Spoons 7.8 7.1 2 Table Spoons - Pierced 7.5 6.8 2 Table Spoons 5.6 5.1 2 Flat Servers - Tomato 5.4 4.9 2 Cream/Sauce Ladles 3.1 2.8 2 Small Sugar Spoons 1.9 1.7 4 Pickle/Olive Forks 2.9 2.6 3 Cold Meat Forks 8.4 7.7 3 Butter Knives - Flat 3.6 3.3 1 Large Sugar Spoon 1.4 1.3 1 Candy Scoop 0.9 0.8 1 Jelly Server 1.4 1.3 163 Total Solid Items 218.70 199.34 211 Totals 334.10 304.52 Legend - H = Hollow Handled
