This beautiful set of eight famille rose plates are decorated with colorful enamel painted flowers throughout the borders, highlighted with gold gilt. They have a medallion in the center that is decorated with enamel painted butterflies and the scenes around the border are decorated with birds, butterflies and insect and are in a very rare pattern which is very rare and the opening bid price for the plates is almost a gift . The border scenes are surrounded by fish with gilt highlighted scales. The set dates from the mid 19th Century and they measure 8 + ½ inches across. The set is excellent condition with the exception that three of the plates have a small nip along their rim. They are being sold as is.
