Daghestan Prayer rugs can look very similar but have a ribbed back where you may expect a flat back in a Azeri rug. Massalin is the dialect of Talish Ethnologue: Azerbaijan - Talish spoken in Masally and as such I suggest that there is a possibly that Marasali rugs are Masally rugs and should be seen as a subgroup of Talish. The marsali rug that is offered here, is known as a Dixon white pattern, it is a very finely woven rug with all vegetable dyes. This rug was made in last quarter of 19th century and is in good condition for its age. As we have shown in the images, this rug need some attention on both end, which are a little bit un even and easily could be restored, because jsut a little bit missing. Also one area in the left side edge that needs to put the new binding. Other than that rest of the rug is in very good condition, does not show any wears in the field withouy having any tears, holes, stain, odor and repair.
