Please email me at info@tookalook.com This is magnificent Raven Ladle by master artist Joe Peters Jr. A noted Kwakwaka'wakw artist, Joe began carving as a child. He was mainly self-taught but did receive some instruction from Dwayne Simeon. Later, Joe was strongly influenced and inspired by the work of Beau Dick and Russell Smith, both prominent Kwakwaka'wakw carvers. A skillful artist, as seen with the sublime work below, Joe died tragically at the age of 34. Works by this artist are still quite sought after by private and public collections, due to his style and deep knowledge of NWC form.
