Today is the day that your life could change. . . This stunning life-like statue of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus in her arms came into my life at a time when I needed them the most. These 2-D pictures do her no justice, as to hold her in your arms and feel her aura will reinforce the power of belief in God's presence. She was found wedged between large boulders in the surf on a small island in the central pacific by a dear friend who was walking along that day with no idea of the treasure he was about to find. Feeling the roughness of the ancient lava rock, he immediately was taken aback by the obvious. . . The rock was undeniably a statue of the kneeling Virgin Mary holding her baby Jesus. Her cloak draped over her head and down her body, so beautiful with coverings of years being in the elements. She was meant to be found and he knew it. The baby Jesus nestled perfectly safe in His mother's arms. I have my friends' blessing in selling the statue as I have never before had such a need. Without sounding sorry for myself, my life has had some hard challenges these past few years. My husband left me and our 3 sons because he didn't want to face the difficult times we had with our middle son who was born with multiple disabilities. He has Angelman syndrome, cerebral palsy, microcephaly, malformed feet, terrible scoliosis, and the list goes on . . . He began his back surgeries 6 years ago and the number of surgeries suggested went from 3 to 7. He had metal rods attached to his vertebrae to keep him standing straight. He went in again and again to get them lengthened as he grew. Each time my little soldier marched on without one complaint. Recovering in the hospital all he ever wanted was for "mama" to rub his tummy and kiss him. 2 weeks later he was always back at school with a huge smile on his face! He then had major foot surgery to re-arrange the bones so that he could walk properly. He had casts up to his thighs for 8 weeks. Never a complaint or a whine! The surgery did not work so he had to go back the next year to have his foot bones fuzed. Casts again for 12 weeks. He was offered a choice of colors. One purple and one green! A giggle and a smile and we were heading home. The casts were off for 3 weeks when a boy at his "special" school fell on him and broke his leg in 2 places. A cast on for 7 weeks. Still no complaints. He knew he had his Mom to help him and I had my boy to remind me that things are not always as bad as we think they are. There is always someone worse off! Last year he had his "final" back surgery to take the rods out of his back and fuse his vertebrae. Turns out the bones were already fused so the rods came out and he was all set. Just when you think there would be a happy ending, his little body decided to miss the rods holding him up and so he has to go back in September to have them put back in. My son cannot talk but he understands everything that is said. He uses some adapted sign language and points to pictures. He is the most wonderfully strong human being and shows me the meaning of humility each and every day. As you can imagine, raising 3 boys alone, one with multiples special needs is financially draining and so I see this sale as an opportunity to better their lives. The statue gave miracles to my friends' child when he needed them . . .here he writes his story: My son spent most of his childhood in and out of childrens' hospitals. He suffered with acute excema, food allergies and acute asthma. He was even allergic to rice, something the specialist said was rare and would be permanent. Test after test were performed on him and I would pray and beg every day for God to give me guidance and show me what to do about my son's condition. I was at work one day feeling drained and frustrated and all the workers were pulled in for a special meeting. They wanted volunteers to go to an island in the central pacific to start up a new facility. To everyones amazement including my own, I raised my hand. It was an overwhelming feeling I had. My entire family thought I lost my mind but I knew something was happening. Within several months of arriving on the island ALL of my son's illnesses were gone. He even eats rice by the bowlful! Now let me tell you God is merciful and he alone cured my son of his ailments. I am shy when it comes to talking about God. This is not because I am ashamed of being a Christian, it's just that I am not a good disciple. This is my chance to tell my story to a lot of people. God made everything and everyone and he has a plan for you. Trust and love God with all your heart not because people say you should or have to but because you want to. I believe God wanted me to find this statue for a reason. A couple of years ago I passed it on to a dear friend who was going through some tough times. Recently I was awoken in the night by a clear and distinct voice that said, "sell Mary". This blew me away as I had not thought of that stone in a long time. I immediately let my friend know what happened and told her to sell it if she wished but to please let me tell my story in the process. Mary stands approx. 1 foot high, weighs 12 pounds. She is absolutely stunning. The stone depicting baby Jesus was already inside the rock which made her even more special.
