THE WOOD IS APPROXIMATELY 1"+ THICK. Hewn from a single piece of wood or tree. Very old repairs made with cooper sheets and nails. Amazing piece of Americana, Country, Folk Art, Primitive, Shaker, Amish, Native American. No initials or signature. Obviously a cherished Bowl or Basin to have survived this long and to have been repaired so carefully. Beautiful Antique with all its faults. Perfect centerpiece for a long table or sideboard.
