Read our feedback and bid with confidence.    After the Viking invasion of England in 866AD they lived  more or less peacefully, occupying about half of what is today England.  Among the artifacts from that time are beads which often are found alongside metal objects and weapons discovered by metal detectors.  For auction are 6 black glass Viking beads found in England dating circa 866 to 1067A.D.  They average about 3.7 mm ( over 1/8”).  These are hand wound over a wire or mandrel, and each has its own form as a result.  The black glass is probably volcanic obsidian imported from Iceland.  Vi87 Shipping is free Worldwide with the purchase of this item.
