Description
Very Rare seed sower from Rhode Island farm. The wood portion of the seeder is in the original, old mustard yellow paint.Probably had a leather strap for over-the-shoulder use. (strap is missing.)Hand crank chain-drive works perfectly. Crank the wood handle and seed is fed from a tin on top into the box. A series of metal paddles blows the seed out of the snoot which is metal-lined inside. Outer edge of the " guitar" shaped box has a metal covering which has surface rust (no holes)The condition is absolutely amazing for a tool that was made in the late 1800's. Most of the attached, paper instruction sheet is faded but there is enough to see that this seeder was manufactured in Connecticut.30 inches long. I purchased this at an auction in 1971 and it has been in dry storage since. I have never seen anything that resembles it ...anywhere.It is in working condition and overall, a museum quality implement.Paypal, Check or M/OThanks for looking!
