This fine old tool seems to be made of mahogany with 7 ivory inlays of diamonds, hexagons and 1 rectangular element. Overall This very scarce scrimshaw tool is apprx. 28 3/4" in length and 8 1/2". Very good overall condition. I found this tool in an old carpenter's tool box on the coast of Maine. Appears to be mid 1800's.
