The size is 9’1” x 7’3”. The foundation is wool and all colors are natural dyed. Very beautiful greens and blues and even some pretty yellow. This piece has three columns of six very large gulli-guls with typical clover leaves in their interiors, with the chemche gul in the center. Notice that the cross has been omitted from this gul in the second row. The design of the main boarder of continous diamonds is also very typical. Typical Ersari design in the flatwoven elems. The condition is very good and original. No repairs, reweaves or holes. Overall the pile is in very good condition but there are small areas where the pile is a little low. In the boarder there is a spot of very minor moth damage but that can be easily fixed. Selvedges and ends are original but one kilim end needs to be secured and the other has a very poor repair. Selvedges need a little work. Overall this rug is a real collector’s piece that is still in very good to perfect condition for its age. With a little work this would be a gallery piece.
