Description
GRAND ANTIQUE UZBEK FULLY SILK HANDMADE EMBROIDERED SUZANI -PALYAK SUZANI -PALYAK Now you are bidding the long traditional Uzbek Suzani-Palyak. Suzani from the Uzbek language means “embroidered with a needle”.Hand-emroidery with silk threads on home-made cotton fabric. It is from Tashkent. Hand-embroidery of Tashkent and Ferghana Valley too differs by an amazing, hardly appreciable stitches and wonderful delicate restrained colours. You can see skilful alternation of gentle and bright colours: pink passes in red and in pink again; dark claret in dark green, yellow in pink and in white, etc. Fine designed thin black line gives clearity to the pattern and it demarcates separate subjects. THERE IS NO EMPTY CLOTH, THE ENTIRE CLOTH IS TAKEN UP WITH EMBROIDERY! IT NEEDED TREMENDOUS ENERGY AND A LONG TIME TO MAKE! Certainly, interest of Uzbek people to astronomy should be reflected in a national - applied art. The classical sample of this is Suzani-Palyak. Separate parts of the Embroidery are various astronomical subjects with the symbolical images of the sun, the moon, stars, planets and etc. The fine embroidery of Tashkent region has traditional motives the sun, the moon and the stars. These are bold designs, with an archaic symbolism centered on a circular motif, whose exact meaning is debated by specialists, it represent the sun, the moon, the heavens, a flower or an open pomegranate, a symbol of fertility. It is clearly a positive image of continuity and survival, and it appears over and over again in the life of the region. It often employs powerful contrasts, as if to distinguish dark and light, good and evil, life and death, and strong colors such as red for blood, dark green for the ground and white-black for the sky. This symbolism is most clear in the suzanis of the Tashkent and Ferghana Valley regions. They are hallmarked by a particular central roundel, known as the PALYAK, which is so distinctive that the word itself is used at Tashkent instead of suzani to refer to these embroideries. A PALYAK is a heavenly orb, and it can also appear as the OI-PALYAK, "moon-sky," occasionally with a star, and is often stylized to look like giant red flowers. This very fine Silk handmade embroidery - Bukhara Suzani is an excellent Decorative article for your interior.
