The box has it's original wood tray,with red silk covered lid, pincushions and needle cases, and the inside of the lid has been lined with matching red silk. The brass hinges are original and still in place, although unfortunately the original key is missing. AGELate Victorian, circa 1880.SIZEThe box measures 23m (9¼") long, 18cm (7¼") deep and 12cm (4¾") high. CONDITIONThe box is in a very good condition for age, with no major damage to the wood, although there is some light cracking to the lid, plus surface scratches consistent with use, and a small amount of damage to the wood above the lock (where forced). The brass, abalone, bone and ebony inlay is in a good condition, although there is a small section missing from one corner. Th interior is in a very good/excellent condition, with no damage to the wood or silk accessories.
