Now isn't this just going to be the just Absolutely PERFECT Christmas gift for that SPECIAL someone???This EXCEPTIONAL Antique German Handthrown Stoneware SaltGlaze Pitcher reminds me of the WESTERWALD type keramik steins made in the mid-1800's or so.Now, I'm NO expert in Antique German ceramic stoneware, but the age of this piece really shows, especially the EARLY type Cobalt and dark Violet glazes used, as well as the VERY FANCY incised decoration, that to me, smacks of 1840 - 1860.The graceful, angular form leans a bit toward the softer, Jugendstil / Art Nouveau style (but not by decoration) which might put this closer to 1875 - 1880.This ewer/ pitcher is SIGNED on the bottom but I cannot discern the maker. Maybe one of you would be so kind as to enlighten us with an attribution, and we thank you in advance. This was recently rescued form a magnificent OLD Alpine estate where it was displayed for the most SPECIAL occasions.Measures 9.5" tall. Opening measures 1.75" diameter, base measures 5" across.WE'RE GOING TO BE QUIET NOW AND LET THE PHOTOS DO THE TALKING .....please examine them closely.CONDITIONMINT, (means NO condition issues, structural or cosmetic) ~ and we do NOT use that term unless it applies~!We highly doubt you'll be disappointed~!FYI, BEFORE YOU BID.....We STAND BY our condition descriptions as being accurate~please examine the photos carefully as well.If you have any questions or concerns, or need to see another picture, please email us or call us directly as we DO NOT sell our items on APPROVAL.We can give you MANY, MANY references in the Vintage Modernist Design world~ important ,high profile collectors AND dealers who have done repeat business with me for nearly 30 years, and testify to the integrity of what we've sold them.Pease note (again) this is a 7 day auction of a freshly rescued treasure from an OLD Alpine Estate, NOT TO BE MISSED~!Take a peek at our OTHER VINTAGE AUCTIONS, you'll be GLAD you did~!Good Luck Bidding and God Bless from Mikala & Pila. Questions or Concerns? Please email or call 619-269-7245 before you bid. What makes us different from other Ebay Sellers? You MIGHT see other similar items for auction on other Ebay Seller sites.....but PALEEEASE... can you really trust their ONE (okay, maybe 2) images they provide you?Do you actually trust their very brief and vague descriptions? We GO the EXTRA mile for YOU, our valued customer, to provide you with a VERY accurate description and the BEST photos we are capable of taking.Additionally, we PACK your item VERY carefully. Since selling on Ebay as of October 1997, only ONE buyer received an item broken, and it was UPS's fault. Needless to say, we no longer use UPS, period. WITH regards to packing and shipping cost, we may NOT be the cheapest, but we ARE fair and reasonable.....NOR are we the fastest ~ we usually ship within 10 days after payment clears, in MOST cases....HOWEVER, we do guarantee your item will NOT arrive damaged from us due to our UNDER-packing and / or HASTILY-shipping. LASTLY, we pay for U.S.Postal Delivery Confirmation on your item out of our OWN pocket, so that you have complete CONFIDENCE of our sincere intentions to make every effort your package arrives at your specified address~!Should you have any further questions or concerns related to this auction, please email us before you bid.Thank you for your consideration~ God Bless from Mikala & Pila~!PAYMENTSINTERNATIONALMUST PAY VIA PAYPAL ONLY.U.S.YES, we PREFER payments via PAYPAL~!PayPal account required when bidding on our auctions.GO TO http://www.paypal.com PACKAGING / HANDLING / SHIPPING COST: There has been a sharp spike in the cost of shipping by ALL shipping carriers, due to the OUTRAGEOUS increase in gas and other fuels causing U.S.Postal, FedEx, and UPS to raise there shipping prices TREMENDOUSLY.
