This is an antique and collectible 1878 signed and hallmarked Tiffany & Co. Chatelaine made of sterling silver holding and permanently affixed to an Art Nouveau dated 1900 leather handbag purse on a silver-plated frame. From the sterling silver top of the Chatelaine to the bottom leather, this measures 11 3/4 inches in height X 6 1/2 inches in width at the widest point. The sterling silver Chatelaine is signed, Tiffany & Co. 4308 M 37 sterling silver The Tiffany & Co. M hallmark dates from 1878-1891. Just the sterling silver Chatelaine alone measures approximately 3 1/4 inches in height X 2 1/8 in width at the widest point. A Chatelaine normally is worn hanging from your belt as if it were a 125 year old "Antique Fanny Pack." Hanging, attached and affixed to it is an Art Nouveau dated 1900 leather purse, handbag with a silver-plated frame. The exquisite Art Nouveau leather pocketbook, bag or purse is 100% functional.
