Description
bertlottjean3 store Adorable early Victorian lge detailed hand lace shawl I have a refund policy. Please read the details at the foot of this page.ENGLISH SPEAKERS ONLY PLEASEI have just purchased a range of antique lace in large items. Absolutely beautiful, they all date to Victorian times and are NOT a good white. [The exception being a lace veil that is from the 1920's].I have very briefly soaked the lace in Oxi Clean and masses of old dirt came out! Each piece therefore needs further gentle washing by hand in a similar product. I do not know how bright they will become and therefore advise you NOT to bid unless you are happy about this. This beautiful early hand worked Victorian shawl is very decorative and perfect for evening wear.Made entirely of net with deep lace edges all around, it has huge lace motifs in each of the four corners. The shawl is generally in very good antique condition, with just one small break in the netting, and a few minor breaks around the lacework which have to be searched for. However, there are two edges on which some blue dye has seeped, probably from the gown the lady was wearing originally. Each of these patches is about two inches long and not at all obvious in wear. The shawl is a very good size at 44" squareOther items in the photo's not included in the sale. This is for one Victorian shawl. Please do take a look at my other listings if you have the time! Payment within 7 days please. Sorry, no cheques. Paypal only from overseas. Paypal or uncrossed postal order from the UK. No collections for small items.
