Description
English, dating from the second half of the 19th century - C. 1880. A foundry made, cast brass bell - with original striker. The bell is copper riveted to the steel spring. The spring has a pair mounting holes to the furthest extreme. The bell is designed to be mounted to the inside, top face of the door - opening the door, causes the spring to flex - thus ringing the bell! This example has survived in superb condition - old layers of thick gloss paint removed from the spring - allowing it to work properly. Overall height - 7" (178mm), max stand-off - 8 1/4" (210mm). Please see my other items for more vintage garden and other tools / bygones. Shipping - U.S.A. and Worldwide - £10.30 air mail - Europe - £7.70 air mail - UK shipping as below.
