Designer   This is a very unique and elegant silver piece.  The silver is coin silver quality. This item comes from a private collection. This gorgeous coin silver tea pot and warmer was made by renowned silversmith, John Chandler Moore for Ball, Tomkins & Black of New York. c.1845. The tea pot and warmer measure approximately 12" tall and approximately 8" across at the widest point.  The tea pot by itself measures approximately 8" tall. It weighs approximately 5.2 pounds or 75.8333 troy ounces. There is no monogram. There is a crown engraved on both sides of the kettle.  The overall decoration is floral ~ Leaf and floral cap, rolled scalloped leaf feet, ornate handle. This beautiful piece is from the New York City firm of Ball, Tompkins & Black. Examples of their work are found in museums and important private collections worldwide. The firm succeeded Frederick and Josiah Marquand in 1839. They continued, until 1851, when Ball, Black & Company was born. This piece is in very good condition.  The handle appears to be a little loose at the joints but does not appear to have any repair work.  The extensive hand chased finish work retains its original, meticulous detail throughout.
