Jose Iturbi is the famous Spanish Orchestra Conductor from Hollywood, seen in films of the 40s and 50s. This striking 19th Century French mantel clock retailed by Simpson and Fricker, includes the brass plate inscription noting its gift in 1966 from the Spanish Ministry of Information and Tourism to Mr. Iturbi. Its movement displays 19th Century large fine French barrels and rare parallel pendulum technology. Eight day movement strikes on the hour and half hour. Keeps excellent time and has been recently cleaned by a Master clockmaker. Circa 1890s. Dimensions: 19" h. X 12" w. X 8.5" d.
