Functional Eight-Day Movement Works Professionally Restored Beautiful Mahogany Construction Gothic Design Flame Mahogany Grain! Fine Rosewood Inlays Solid-Brass Hands Genuine Solid-Lead Weights Some Minor Surface Wear Excellent Condition! Disassembles for Shipping Will Need Professional for Re-Assembly Even the sides are beautiful! As you can see, the piece has sustained some minor surface wear over the years, some of which has been skillfully repaired some time ago, as seen in this picture. The back, like the rest of the piece, remains sturdy.      In the town of Wolverhampton, England, which has a long history of clockmakers, this beautiful mahogany clock was hand-crafted during the late Georgian period around 1820.  Since then, the mahogany has acquired a lovely patina, which enriches the startling flame mahogany grain and complexion as well as the intricate rosewood inlays. The clock face, which features solid-brass hands, contrasts beautifully with the wood, accented by beautiful hand-carved moulding. The door and midsection boast a lovely Gothic design that complements the rest of the case. There is some surface wear, some of it skillfully repaired some time ago. The works have been restored by a professional clockmaker so it will keep perfect time and should give you many years of trouble-free service! This clock functions with an eight-day movement, which means you only need to wind it once per week, and it only chimes once per hour, as opposed to the more harrying pace of every quarter-hour. The clock will dis-assemble for shipping, and will need to be professionally re-assembled and set up upon arrival. This gorgeous clock is certainly a rare find, and will continue to function wonderfully for generations to come--so don't miss your chance to make this mahogany "grandfather" clock part of your home today! -Attention- A professional must re-assemble the clock after delivery. Buyer pays all shipping. This "grandfather" clock was hand-crafted in Georgian-period Wolverhampton. The brass clockworks remain in fine, working order. These lead weights help the pendulum function. The Gothic-style crest boasts fine rosewood inlays that complement the flame mahogany beautifully. The lower section displays a circle of rosewood inlay, a subtle counterpoint to the clock face on the top of the piece.
