Has a slight, not unpleasant, canvas,  smell. There is a sturdy leather strap across the top to secure the boot as well. The boot has been used by navy divers but is in very good condition with some discoloration of the canvas due to age and from some accumulated dirt over the years. On the front of the brass toe there is an inscription that reads "Diving Equipment Supply Company - DESCO - Milwaukee, Wis. - patent applied for". It would make a very good base for a nautically oriented lamp or for a window decoration in a nautical store or just as a collectors item from the days before Scuba. Place a Bid!
