Description
Offered is a Seederer-Kohlbusch Co. ( SeKo, Est. 1859 ) analytical balance scale manufactured in Englewood, NJ sometime around 1916. It was built for the Arthur H. Thomas Co. of Philadelphia, a leading supplier of scientific equipment of that period, and who are still in business today. The scale case is made of polished mahogany and constructed with old school cabinet craftmanship. It is surrounded by the old wavy glass that distinguishes it's age. The front access window floats up and down on a counterweighted ( poised )pulley system. No parts are missing or defective, and the balance functions perfectly. All the parts are original, this is not a slapped together combination of parts from other scales. Buyers beware, this is a common practice. The weight set is from the JamesW. Queen Co. of Philadelphia, is original and complete. The weights range from 100 grams to the smallest 1 gram, with a number of fractional milligram weights included. The unique weight set box has that wonderful velvet interior with that magical attic smell of age. I do my own special packing, the buyer pays for shipping only. My buyers are important to me, satisfaction is formost and guaranteed. The scale dimensions are 17"H X 16"W X 9"D, and it weighs about 12 lbs. Shipping will not exceed $60.00, I always get my buyers the very best rate possible. I will take the winners zip code, get the best rate, invoice, and ship the same day. I do request that you ask questions before the auction, and pay PayPal within 24 Hours. If you want any insurance, let me know before I invoice. Please check my feedback, and good luck bidding. International shipping can be very expensive.
