Description
For your consideration 19 century french violin,school of Francois Caussin,circa 1880.Sold with appraisal by Mr. Rafael Carrabba of Carraba fine violins,INC.(Seattle) The two piece back is quarter cut maple with fine grain, medium curl,slightly descending from the senter joint with ribs and scroll to match.The two piece table is spruce of very fine to medium grain in the flanks.Varnish is a brownish orange on a golden brown ground.The inside is a half a label printed "Francesco anno".I believe that it is a copy of Francesco Ruggeri .The measurements: Body length-365mm,Upper bout-164mm,Middle bout-108.5mm,Lower bout-202.5mm.The violin is just out of 2500 dollars restoration,is in great condition,new bassbar, new fingerboard, new pegs.Fitted with Thomastik Dominants and Westminster E.The sound of the violin is very sweet"italian singing" E string and rather dark D and G.Please feel free to ask me any questions.The violin will very well packed and insured.The sale is final,sorry, no refunds, no returns.I will ship worldwide.Thanks for looking and good luck bidding
