Various heights and sizes, hand blown heavy crude glass with polished pontil base (one on front left is smooth base), ca. 1870s, matching graduated set, generally excellent or better condition. Smallest on the left measures 4 ¼” diameter and 7 ½” tall, largest on the right measures 4 ½” diameter and 11 ¼” tall, some of the biggest apothecary jars of this form I have seen. Set weighs over 10 pounds unpacked. Each of the bottles has an old style paper type label, amateurishly applied in some cases, I didn’t want to mess with these, so could use a bit of cleaning here and there. The bottles have a fine grind inner lip and the stopper bottoms similarly finished. The lids fit tight! Generally no chips, cracks, or stains, a few flakes here and there, some content fogginess, a couple of the corners of the stoppers are rougher with small chips. In the last photo, you can see the seven matching smaller jars, just too many for one auction lot, they weigh too much and the box would be huge.
