Description
These pictures do not do this Diorama justice. This extremely heavy diorama is from the Early 1900's. It is exquisite to say the least. A diorama is a scenic representation in which sculptured figures and lifelike details are displayed in miniature so as to belend indistinguishably with a realisticly painted background. The waves of the ocean are of a molded material and appear to have whitecaps. The ship itself has three large sails and a very faded American flag is flown on the left. There are lifelike row boats and the sails are all held together with wires. This is just an incredible piece of artwork. It is mounted on a heavy board and framed in black wood. The background of the picture is painted to resemble a cloudy sky with a hint of sun. The picture measures 30 1/2" wide, 21" tall, and 5 1/2" deep. The black frame has some chipping to it. It is hung by a rather crude wire on the top. Please email me with any questions. Thank you.
