Description
A WONDERFUL BRONZE DISPLAYED BY SPECIAL INVITATION This Western Han Dynasty Bronze Horse is a museum quality treasure. I do not know of another one like this in any private or public museum collection in America. This bronze has a few minor repairs and restorations (as nearly all authentic bronzes do), but is otherwise in-situ condition. The top of the head has been re-poured professionally, and the tail and left front hoof have been replaced. All of the rest of the horse is as found after over 2000 years of burial. The musculature showing on the horse is extremely rare, as are the original Malachite, Cerussite, Azurite, and Cuprite encrustations. There is a botryoidial malachite crystal on the right front leg that measures approximately 1/4" in diameter. See the accompanying picture of it on display at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, where we shared floor space with the Smithsonian Museum and the American Museum of Natural History. This fine horse was also displayed at the Jade Art Now Show as a background piece in 2007 and 2008. This piece is 18 inches long from nose to tail and stands over 17 inches tall. You are invited to inspect this very fine item at our gallery prior to bidding, while viewing many other fine genuine bronze, jade and porcelain antiquities from around the world. We are ANTIQUITIES, PLUS... 2752 N. Campbell Ave. Tucson, AZ 85719 Phone 520-795-0061
