CUTE LIL OLD WILLCOX & GIBBS TREADLE SEWING MACHINEHi Folks!!! We recently purchased the contents of a closed down sewing machine shop right here in New Hampshire! Among the 1,000's of items we obtained....was this CUTE LIL OLD WILLCOX & GIBBS TREADLE SEWING MACHINE! This is a NEAT one folks....it has the grape vine decals on the front arm....front round brass base emblem.... scalloped base....and original painted hand wheel! Much different than MOST of the Willcox & Gibbs machines you see on eBay! We have tested this machine....and it WORKS quite well! Pictured below...we show this machine stitching at 12 & 20 stitches per inch! This cute little machine sewed a perfect chainstitch....tight...no problems...which means...the fee-dogs are perfect...as is the tension and rotary hook! This machine still has nice decals remaining on it. Not perfect...they do show some wear...but still GOOD LOOKing! The machine's nickle plated parts, especially the needle bar, and presser foot bar, are terrific... the stitch plate and thread or spool holder do have some nickle wear, as pictured below, but there is NO rust! There are also some paint chips / minor loss throughout....nothing too bad at all though... To get this machine to sew....we simply threaded the machine, and turned the hand wheel....by hand. NOT a practical means of using this machine I know....but I did want to show you that the machine does work! To use this machine practically, you'd want to find a treadle base, hand crank set-up, or portable electric set-up. I do not currently have any treadle bases or hand crank set ups... but I probably could help the winning bidder out with a portable electric set up....for due consideration, that I will discuss with the winning bidder, if this is of interest. I also want to tell you that you do not necessarily need a Willcox & Gibbs treadle base to power this machine...ALMOST any standard treadle base WILL power this machine....I could provide a treadle base...other than a W&G base....also for due consderation....if you win, please just ask for the details!....The machine is cleaner than most, but she could use a cleaning underneath, and in the very tight spots. If you've always wanted one of these CUTE LIL W&G machines to call your own...this is a wonderful example! Certainly a SUPER addition to ANY collection!!!
