Beautiful Shine and a Mysterious Design!!! Look at this Ancient Beauty that was found near a Celtic settlement site in the Danube Valley and dating from about 300 B.C. during the LaTene Period This ring features a 16.5mm X 8mm bezel in the classic "eye" shape which has a crisp engraving done in a style that was popular for many centuries before the Roman conquest of the Celtic lands. The center of the design has a stylized "Animal Hide" symbol that is flanked to either side by a pair of branches and linear shading designs. Engraved in the center of the "hide" are some of the strange symbols that a lot of people think are some type of RUNES. Even though they DO resemble some of the Ancient Runes, I believe that they are some other sort of Magical Symbols or Script and the fact that they look like Runes is a coincidence or they could be some of the earlier Runes used by the Huns. I have NEVER seen this design ANYWHERE before and it must be a one of a kind that was used for a specific magical purpose, although I cannot be sure of exactly what it was used for. For a ring that has seen much loving use over the course of it's existence, it has a remarkable shine and a well lived-in look the ring has wandering curves which are silky smooth.
