Description
Antique Chelsea Brass Ships Bell clock with a Screw Type Bezel. Measures 6 inch Back Flange and 4.5 inch Bezel Face. This is an 8 Day - High Grade (Non-Strike) ships clock. I was told when I bought it 10 years ago that it came from a New York Harbor Tug. The Serial No. is 135591. The label on the face is Kelvin & Wilfrid O. White Co. Boston-New York. Lord Kelvin and Winfrid White began manufacturing navigation instruments in 1918. Lord Kelvin was famous for his intruments in the late 1800's. They specialized in compasses, wind & weather instruments and Chelsea clocks. This important clock runs perfectly and is the quietest clock in my house. It comes with a key. It's a beautiful instrument and has a warm pleasing patina. The case is in excellent shape and the glass is perfect. There are two minor discolorations on the edge of the case. I've shown it in the photos. These are not dings or scratches - I didn't want to change the original look in any way so I left them "As Is".
