This rare book was Christopher Dresser's first important work and, as such, highly collectible. His later designs in metalwork, ceramics, glass and furniture were grounded in his successful and highly respected academic background in botany and, fascinatingly, you can see his nascent sensibilities for design and pattern in the myriad line illustrations of plants that adorn this volume.
