Description
Offering a beautiful Dutch-engraved armorial Goblet Circa 1730 with the Coat-of-Arms of Prince Wilhem IV flanked by a palm-frond and an orange branch, with the inscription VIVAT ORANIEN (Long Live The House of Orange). The stem is double knopped with a swelling below and has a plain conical folded foot. As shown, in excellent condition with no damage. Contains all the bells and whistles including pincer marks,rough pontil and heavy air bubble filled glass. An almost identical glass sold at Christies London and can be found in sale 2741 Lot 67. This is one of six glasses I recovered in an estate clean-out about ten years ago. I'm closing my little shop and have decided to give them up to the world's collectors of fine antiques. Measures 195mm tall and foot is 100mm wide. Domestic Buyer pays Priority Mail postage and confirmation.
