The marble base of the clock has two different colours, black and beautiful red-brown.The porcelain dial has black romain numbers and the steel hands are beautiful !Perfect running and striking condition with 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell.The movement is stamped with: " Japy Freres - Medaille d'Or " ( Gold Medal).The Japy clock factory was very famous in France at that time.We have bought this very rare mantel clock out of a castle in the South of France near Cannes.This amazing mantel clock is one of the most unique and fabulous clocks we have seen in quite some time!
