Description
Famous Carroll/Darnell/King family bible of the Charles Carroll of Carrollton Last Survivor signor of the Declaration of Independence. Family entries from Col Darnell line, to King family at Kingston Hall, to Sister Mary A. Carroll, Founding of Sisters of Mercy, all family marriages, deaths, births. Entry for the Gale Family. The Bible is of antiquity, and has dates of 1600's, 1700's, and 1800's. It is a Douay Rheims Bible Latin vulgate with complete notes of Haygood. it also contains all appropriations from Bishops of the Catholic churches in their handwriting, and two letters from Pope Piux IX and Pope Piux IV. The bible is filled with engravings of Bibllical figures from famous European Artist of Antiquity. It has no cover, and is in need of some restoration. it is Highly readable. The binding ropes are frayed. The content alone is well worth the starting bid. The bible is about 14 inches tall and weighs around 10 lbs. After payment recieved Bible can be hand delivered to purchaser in U.S.
