In the years that I knew him, he had promised me this lamp, and put my name on the bottom of it.Paul had several pictures of the lamp in a prominent Portland Oregon Hotel, on a newel post at the bottom of a staircase to a main lobby.he claimed it was the Multnomah Hotel.I do not have the evidence and I am hoping somebody has interior images of famous Portland hotels, particularly the Multnomah. So I cannot guarantee the Portland attribution I know to be true.I remember there was a postcard as well with  the hotel name on it.I checked on the net and could not find it in available old Multnomah Hotel images.Whatever, it is one of the famous Portland Oregon Hotel newel post lamps.Paul suddenly got ill and disappeared via family constraints.Unfortunately the family discarded the pictures.I managed to track down the lamp and retrieved it several years ago now. We might start selling some of the good stuff in the estate here, and this is one of the good ones.SOLD AS IS----------------> not bronze-----> bronzed spelterone pinky finger missing, slight wear to some patinasome paint speckles on the back above the buttski that can be removed usually with olive oil.The other original lamp socket is available, marble stone base has some minor chipsHUGE HEAVY.... must be crated delivery.....Craters and Freighters....could be 600 or more dollars, or Oregonians can pick up in Seattle AFTER PAYMENT IS RECEIVEDSIZE: about 4 feet high, the body and arms reach out about 27 inches from the wall.Built in 1912 by local Portland entrepeneur, Philip Gevurtz, the Multnomah Hotel was indeed, the grandest hotel in the Pacific Northwest. It's spacious 700 rooms graciously accomadated the likes of kings and queens, celebrities, and presidents. With its chandeliered ballrooms and marbled staircases, it quickly become the center of the Rose City social circle.
