AGE              Circa 1940.  This is from the estate of Florence Cathaleen Renwick, who married Willam Walter Renwick (of the Museum Renwicks) in 1942.  They lived in El Salvador from 1942 until 1949, when William passed away.  Cathaleen later lived in Brazil in the late 1950's.  She was quite the collector, especially of fine things, and more especially of Mexican silver.   We believe she acquired these in one of those two time periods. As they don't bear the Mexican eagle which was used from 1948 until 1982, nor the lettered and numbered system adopted afterward,  we believe this dates as pre-1948, and possibly earlier. CONDITION       Some minor scratching inside and on the bottom of the gravy from use MARKS            Part of the  Marciel stamp can be made out, and I think the made in Mexico was stamped over it, accounting for the difficulty in reading it.  The 900/1000 is missing, but this is identical to one already sold.  So I will guarantee this as 900/1000 minimum SIZE                 The boat is 10" by 3 3/4" and is 2 7/8" on the base.  The base is 11 1/4" x 7 1/2".  Overall height is 3 1/4".
