This exceptional pair of famille rose vases have a nice form with applied figural lizards around their shoulders and figural foo dogs on their necks. They are decorated with colorful enamel painted flowers on their bodies with butterflies and a bird on either side. They also have a large enamel painted scene on either side of their bodies with a smaller scene on either side of their necks. There are enamel painted flowers on their rims and they are highlighted with gold gilt. This pair of famille rose vases are possibly the finest to have been listed on eBay in a long time, truly museum quality examples. They date from the early to mid 19th Century and measure approximately 16 + ¾ inches tall by 10 inches across at their widest. They are in excellent condition with the exception that one of the blue lizards is missing the center green leaf on its back, as can be seen in the photo.
