The mantel opening is extra large and measures 38 3/4" X 41 1/2". The mantel has a mirror that is beveled on the top and the sides and measures 17 1/2" X 35 1/2". The mirror has some light scratches and shows some wear but is in great shape for it's age. The mantel has been professionally refinished and has a medium tone stain and a hand rubbed finish. The columns and the shelf brackets are quarter sawn oak which gives the mantel a great look. The upper right corner of the mantel has a small crack in the wood where it attaches to the wall but this does not take away from it's beauty. This beautiful mantel would be a nice addition to your home or office.
