Driscolls Antiques Ltd Large Victorian Mahogany Glazed Bookcase ca 1850 This beautiful large antique Victorian mahogany glazed bookcase has a moulded cornice above a cross banded deep frieze and has two beautiful carved corbels. The piece had three glazed panels arched moulding, the two outer doors have brass handles, key and working locks and the interior has two fixed shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above a long shaped frieze drawer and two beautifully carved corbels. The two outer doors have brass knobs, key and working locks and the interior has one fixed shelf. The piece stands on elegant, tulip turned bun feet, splits into two sections for ease of removals, is a warm red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Height 222cms/87.5inches Width 158cms/62inches Depth 47cms/18.5inches Ref No 02217 Items of this age and quality are becoming very rare to find and they are not just a beautiful piece of furniture but also a very good investment.
