Extremely rare pair of low lounge chairs designed by Dirk van Sliedregt for Gebroeders Jonkers of Holland circa mid 1950s. This highly decorative pair are more works of art than furniture. The design is flowing, bulbous and very sculptural. Each chair is comprised of hand woven and formed rattan. The pair is quite strong and sturdy despite their open and airy appearance. They are also VERY comfortable! Similar examples are documented in the book, 50s Decorative Art, by Taschen.
