Heywood Wakefield created this line of furniture during WWII when harvesting rattan was in limited supply. The results were exceptional and the pieces impressive! The top and sides and bottom s are made of beautiful solid rock maple and the drawer joinery is dovetailed. It has warm rich colortones and a has developed a lovely patina through the years. It is marked on the back with a dark blueish black ink stamp reading “Heywood Wakefield” with the eagle logo. Many modern decorator magazine you open show a high-end designer decorated room with vintage rattan pieces as a main focal point or accent piece. This cabinet is the perfect solution for that extra needed storage without taking up much space! Perfect for the hall or entryway, as well as for a TV or aquarium, or a place to store your favorite libations! This lovely cabinet can be used as an accessory in any Mid Century décor as well as any island/tropical/tiki themed décor along with vintage rattan! It has been thoroughly & carefully cleaned and complemented with a double coat, hand rubbed oil finish.
