These iron pieces are rare and were Coleman's studio creations. She is mentioned in George Nelson's "Storage" book for her design work.  A California designer and artist, Coleman worked for several manufacturers and created designs and lines of furniture, mainly in wrought iron.  This shelf or wall unit is in original, as found condition with it's original (beautifully patinated) one piece welded rebar frame and the original pine shelves! Retains all of the flat round metal feet pads.  It doesn't get much better than this. This is a rare find. Muriel Coleman is one of the more obscure mid-century modernists. Another one of these sold at wright auctions in 2002 for $4500.00   DIMENSIONS: 60" tall x 69.5" wide  x 13" depth Top and bottom wood shelf each: 70.5" wide x 11.25" depth Second shelf: 41.5" wide x 11.25" depth Third shelf: 30.5" wide x 11.25" depth CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. No breaks, no repairs. Minor edge wear and minor chips to shelfs.
