The serial number is not 15428 but correctly is 15348. Sorry for initially stating the number incorrectly. It was completed between 1840 and 1842. It has been cared for and played for many years by a professional musician. It needs the care and respect of an instrument that is 168 years old. The case is a beautiful rosewood with tapered legs on ebony pedestals. It is a straight strung instrument and in the period just prior to Erard inventing the modern escapement mechanism. Moving and need to downsize. This is a perfect instrument for your music room or vintage antique collection. Not many of this age and quality.
