They adhesive will come right off without effort.) ABOUT THE ARTIST:  JOE DESCOMPS (French, 1872-1948) was born in Clermont-Ferrand and studied under H. Hiolin. Descomps exhibited often at The Salon of the Societe des Artistes Francais and was elected a member in 1893. He produced an abundant collection of sculptures in the Art Nouveau style (circa 1880 to 1910) specializing in bronze and ivory figures. This graceful piece, set on a marble base, is a good example of his work and is featured in Brian Catley's 'Art Deco and Other Figures', page 139. This is a rare chance to acquire a beautiful work of art by one of best artists that created their masterpieces in the country where the style originated.   We are licensed to transport and resell legally acquired Ivory specimens inside the USA by The New York State Fish & Wild Life Department.
